Solvent Free Polyurethane

Solvent Free Polyurethane Dispersions

Bond Polymers International manufactures a wide range of waterborne polyurethane dispersions including several that are solvent free. There are several advantages of using these solvent free polyurethane dispersions.

The Advantages Of Solvent Free Polyurethane Dispersion:

  • Solvent free polyurethane dispersions are much lower in VOC's than waterborne polyurethane dispersions that contain co-solvent.
  • Solvent free polyurethane dispersions are less aggressive on sensitive substrates that can be damaged by solvents.
  • Solvent free polyurethane dispersions are actually faster drying than many waterborne polyurethane dispersions that contain co-solvent because the most common co-solvents are much slower to evaporate than water.
  • Solvent free polyurethane dispersions are even more environmentally and user friendly than waterborne polyurethane dispersions that contain co-solvent.

The following are a few of our most common Solvent free polyurethane dispersions:

Bondthane™ UD-104

Medium soft solvent free polyurethane dispersion with an excellent blend of properties. Heat sealable in adhesive applications. Good adhesion to many substrates.

Bondthane™ UD-108

Very soft solvent free polyurethane dispersion with excellent hydrolytic stability. Used for adhesive and textile applications. Good adhesion to many substrates.

Bondthane™ UD-302

Soft economical solvent free polyurethane dispersion for a variety of textile or flexible substrate applications.

Bondthane™ UD-312

Medium Soft economical solvent free polyurethane dispersion. This is a moderately harder version of our UD-302.

Bondthane™ UD-303

Very Soft economical solvent free polyurethane dispersion for a variety of textile, leather basecoat, or flexible substrate applications. This is our softest solvent free waterborne polyurethane and it has excellent flexibility and elongation properties.

Other Waterborne Polyurethane Products:

In addition to our solvent free polyurethane dispersions, BPI also manufactures many waterborne polyurethane dispersions with co-solvents other than the common NMP solvent. This has advantages on certain substrates that are sensitive to NMP or in applications where formulators prefer that their product is NMP-Free.

See our NMP-Free Polyurethane page for more information.
